Top Five Reasons to Get Your Tickets to VRLA

VRLA

We’re less than two weeks out from VRLA Summer Expo 2016. Time to buy your tickets.

Over the past couple years, we’ve watched VRLA grow from a 100 person meetup into the world’s largest virtual reality expo. On August 5th and 6th, the expo will break its own record once again when 6,000 people from around the world occupy over 80,000 square feet of the Los Angeles Convention Center for a two-day celebration of virtual reality.

Still not convinced? Here are six reasons to get your tickets now:

1. Reggie Watts is Delivering the Keynote

Reggie Watts will kick things off as the keynote speaker. Most people know Reggie as the creator of Comedy Bang Bang, or the band leader and announcer of the Late Late Show with James Corden. But Watts is also active in the VR world. Earlier this year, he released his first VR project at Sundance called Waves. Most recently he performed live in AltspaceVR.

2. Android Jones Will Purify Your Soul

Watts won’t be the only creative powerhouse in the building. On the show floor you’ll find visual artist and Pop-Shamanist Android Jones. He’ll be showing his Microdose VR experience and the SAMSKARA dome show, which teleports groups of people through 7,000 years of story and consciousness as told by the Hindu Vedas.

3. You’ll See the World’s First VR Rave

VRLA is teaming up with Skullcandy and TheWave to let you dance as an avatar while a some of your favorite DJs perform live. To be clear, you’ll be dancing on the ground and in a virtual venue simultaneously, questioning the difference between your physical and virtual existence.

4. You’ll Fly Like a Bird

The show floor will be full of over 130 exciting experiments in VR, including Mindride’s Airflow which lets you fly like a bird in VR.

5. Visionary VR Will Reveal What They’ve Been Working On

In addition to running the world’s largest VR expo, founders Cosmo Scharf and Jonnie Ross are also part of a VR startup called Visionary VR, where they recently raised a six million dollar seed. They will be showcasing a first look at the app they’ve been building for creating stories in virtual reality. We can’t wait to see it.
