‘Star Wars’ Location Based VR Heading To Las Vegas, Glendale

Two new location-based VR centers will come to California and Las Vegas early next year.

When it comes to location-based VR, there are few companies more respected than the folks over at The VOID. The whole-body immersive experiences provided by the cutting-edge service are some of the most impressive examples of VR technology to-date, delivering some truly captivating multi-person experiences across New York, Dubai, London, Orlando, Toronto, Lindon and Anaheim.

Whether it be spooky ghost hunting in Ghostbusters: Dimension or the action-packed sci-fi battles of Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire, The VOID has a little bit of something for everyone.

Now the immersive entertainment center is looking to expand its efforts with two new locations for the lucky residents of Las Vegas, Nevada and Glendale, California. Opening early next year, these new VR centers will open with the VOID’s latest experience, Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire for visitors to enjoy.

A collaboration between ILMxLAB and Lucas Films, the Star Wars-themed hyper-reality adventure has you step into the shoes of a rebel soldier as you and your team go undercover as Stormtroopers in order to infiltrate an Empire compound. These new locations at the Glendale Galleria and Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian will be the only centers next to the downtown Anaheim and Florida locations to feature the adrenaline-fueled Star Wars experience.

“As we continue on our mission to bring immersive and interactive entertainment to a broad consumer audience, partnering with GGP creates the perfect opportunity to expand our network,” said Cliff Plumer, CEO of The VOID. “When it comes to immersive entertainment, seeing is believing and that’s never been truer than with hyper-reality. Partnering with Oculus has enabled us to provide the most human experience imaginable, transporting guests to entirely new worlds. We look forward to opening our unique entertainment centers in additional key markets throughout 2018.”

“Our partnership with The VOID emphasizes GGP’s curation strategy of adding entertainment concepts and new experiences to our regional shopping centers,” said Melinda Holland, senior vice president of business development at GGP.

You can pick up tickets to check out Secrets of the Empire at the downtown Disney California and Orlando, Florida VOID centers now for just $30. Tickets for the upcoming Vegas and Glendale locations will be available in the near future. Just don’t forget to bring a few friends. Hyper-reality is always better when you have someone to high five with in VR.
