Team up with friends to survive the harsh conditions of the Amazonian rainforest.
Developer Incuvo this week revealed that an official cooperative mode is coming to the popular open-world VR survival game Green Hell VR, allowing you to explore (or slowly die in) the brutally-unforgiving Amazonian rainforest alongside your best buds.
Originally released in April 2022 on Quest followed by PC VR and PlayStation VR that June, Green Hell VR immerses you in a desperate struggle to survive the elements after you find yourself isolated deep within the jungle with no food or equipment. Alone, you face everything from hungry wildlife to hunger itself. Well, not completely alone, at least not anymore.
The upcoming multiplayer game mode will allow you and up to four other players to explore, craft, and survive together for the first time.
In addition to this new game mode, the developer has also announced Spirits of Amazonia, a three-part DLC that will introduce a new story as well as additional gameplay mechanics.
“We are excited to announce that we are working on implementing a multiplayer mode for Green Hell VR!,” said the developer via the game’s official Discord. “We understand that many of our players have been eagerly awaiting the addition of co-op. We want to assure you that we are committed to delivering an immersive multiplayer experience that meets your expectations.”
“We know that this is taking a long time, however, we want to ensure that we take the time necessary to thoroughly develop and test the multiplayer mode in order to provide the best possible experience for our players,” adding, “Oh, and guess what? The Multiplayer Mode will allow you to explore the jungle in a team of up to 4 players together.”
No word yet on when we can expect the multiplayer game mode or three-part DLC to drop. Incuvo has also remained tight-lipped regarding cross-play support between headsets.
Green Hell VR is available now on Meta Quest, PC VR, and PlayStation VR headsets (prices may vary).
