The exciting conclusion to ILMxLABs’ VR action-adventure game arrives later this year on Oculus Quest headsets.
Roughly a year after its launch on Oculus Quest headsets, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge returns this Fall with a brand new sci-fi adventure.
Brought to us by developer ILMxLAB (Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series), Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge has you taking on the role of a droid repair technician trapped on a foreign planet after your ship was besieged by a Guavian Death Gang. Shortly after crashlanding, you stumble across a backwater bar run by a friendly Azumel bartender named Seezelslak (Bobby Moynihan).
This deep-space cantina serves as your base of operations as you explore the outskirts of the Black Spire Outpost. Here you can also listen to Seezelslak as he recalls legendary stories that transport you across the Star Wars timeline.
The second installment, Last Call, returns you to the planet Batuu for another round of sci-fi adventuring as you explore the Outer Rim in search of a lost artifact on behalf of Dok-Ondar (Cory Rouse). Thankfully, you won’t be alone in your search.
Joining you on your mission will be Lens Kamo (Karla Crome), a veteran treasure hunter with a passion for protecting valuable artifacts from shady collectors. This includes Baron Attsmun (Mark Rolston), a wealthy industrialist and all-around bad dude also in search of this mysterious artifact.
“Welcome back to Batuu! Dok-Ondar has pulled up a seat in Seezelslak’s cantina and he has a job for you. The infamous ithorian sends you deep into the Batuuu wilds in search of a lost artifact. You’ll team up with the relic hunter Lens Kamo and battle against the evil Baron Attsmun,” said Project Director Jose Perez III in an official release. “We are super excited to continue to expand the Star Wars galaxy and hope fans swing by for Last Call.”
“We are over the moons to continue your story as our intrepid deckhand as you spend time with new and familiar characters on Batuu”, added Senior Producer Alyssa Finley. “With new adventures to go on, two new Tales to experience, and a multitude of new items to buy and try at Mubo’s Workshop, our team can’t wait for fans to jump into Last Call this fall.”
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge is available now for $24.99 on Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2 headsets. Last Call will be available as a paid download this Fall. No word yet on an official price or release date.
