‘Resident Evil 4 VR’ Heading To Oculus Quest 2, Details Here

Additional details regarding the official VR port will arrive April 21st during the Oculus Gaming Showcase.

In a surprise announcement made earlier today during the Resident Evil Showcase, it was revealed that Capcom, Facebook, and Armature Studios are developing an official VR port of the 2005 action/horror game Resident Evil 4, aka the best Resident Evil game ever.

Arguably the most popular entry in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil 4 has you taking on the role of Leon Kennedy, a former cop now working directly for the United States government. Tasked with infiltrating a deadly cult in search of the president’s missing daughter, players explore a decrepid Spanish village haunted by plague-ridden residents. Praised by the community for introducing a new style of gameplay to the series, RE4 would go on to receive numerous ports on a variety of platforms.

Today, GameSpot revealed the game’s most dramatic port to date, the Oculus Quest 2. Whereas the original RE4 has you playing from a standard third-person perspective, Resident Evil 4 VR will be a first-person experience, allowing you to interact with the in-game world using your Touch controllers. While information is light at the moment, the official reveal trailer shows the player holding a weapon, interacting with in-game objects, and turning a virtual crank.

More information will arrive on April 21st during Oculus’s inaugural VR Gaming Showcase.
