The co-founder of location-based entertainment company The VOID returns with a new wingsuit VR experience.
Jumping out of an aircraft and soaring past mountains like a flying squirrel looks like an incredible experience. It’s also an incredibly dangerous one and not everyone was made for that type of ‘X-Games’ lifestyle. Thankfully, VR technology allows us to partake in new activities that would otherwise be too difficult or dangerous to experience in real-life.
JUMP is a VR wingsuit simulator that takes the danger out of the deadly action sport, leaving only the thrills as you rip through the sky while screaming at the top of your lungs.
The hyper-real multi-sensory VR experience comes from CEO James Jensen and CFO Matthew Hall. You may recognize Jensen as one of the co-founders of the location-based VR company The VOID.
For Jensen, JUMP is exactly what location-based entertainment is all about. Participants wear an actual wingsuit and feel wind effects as they dangle above the ground via a full-body harness. The experience also features a killer VR helmet that looks like it was taken straight out of a sci-fi video game like No Man’s Sky. The entire experience was developed, built, tested, and approved by a team of VR advisors and professional wingsuit jumpers, so you know you’re getting an experience that’s as close to the real deal as possible.
The best part is you don’t need any prior experience jumping out of planes in order to play. You simply show up, slip into a custom suit, and jump! Of course, the full-body harness and custom hardware require a bit of instruction, but that’s nothing compared to the 3-5 months of training it takes to become an actual wingsuit jumper.
JUMP will be making its debut at two locations this November; Salt Lake City and at the American Dream Amusement Park in East Rutherford, NJ. Of course, with James Jensen behind onboard, you can expect to see more locations pop up in the very near future.
To make things easy for you, the company has opened up the ability to preorder JUMP tickets so you can plan accordingly. There are four different tiers available to choose from; Duo, Squad, Captain, and Lifetime. But here’s the catch, presales are limited in quantity, so if you’re interested you might want to look into ordering now. So far the company has already sold over $190,000 worth of passes. The tiers for JUMP include:
