If you’re going to save the world, you’ll want the best possible experience.
Thanks to a partnership between Warner Bros and IMAX, you will now be able to step foot into one of coolest bachelor pads in all of Gotham City: the Batcave.
If that wasn’t cool enough; you can then to take it to the next level by suiting up as any member of the Justice League and battle a bunch of baddies in a VR experience that includes high quality visuals and audio, state-of-the-art 4D effects with reactive grip controllers from Tactical Haptics, and haptic vests and motion seats that promises to give you the realistic sensation of being an actual superhero.
The VR experience is called Justice League: An IMAX VR Exclusive, and it recently made its debut at IMAX VR Centers in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto; and will soon arrive at IMAX VR Centers in Shanghai and the UK.
I was able to check out the Justice League VR experience during NY Comic Con back in October, and what I got was a VR experience that was a ton of fun and worth the multiple times in line—all so I could experience each character’s super power.
IMAX VR looks to up the ante with Justice League: An IMAX VR Exclusive, presenting users with a much more in-depth virtual adventure. In particular, they’ll do this by leveraging IMAX’s proprietary modular “Pod” design to bring an experience that is optimized for full-body interaction in a virtual environment in both single and multi-user mode.
Each Justice League superhero is represented in the IMAX VR experience, and will require you to master each of their unique super powers in order to complete the mission. The Flash has super speed, Wonder Woman has her trademark Amazonian strength, Cyborg packs the the technological weaponry, Superman can fly, and Aquaman can plumb the depths to face off against sea creature. As for Batman; he’s just rich…and also happens to drive the coolest car. Ever.
The partnership with Warner Bros has IMAX bringing even more Justice League super-experiences to life: an upcoming solo Aquaman VR experience, as well as a third untitled VR experience—with the agreement that IMAX has the exclusive rights to bring each Warner Bros produced Justice League VR experience at all IMAX VR Centers.
The best part about Justice League: An IMAX VR Exclusive is you don’t have to be Bruce Wayne rich to have the full Justice League IMAX VR experience, because tickets range from $7 to $25. Just reserve your tickets for Justice League: An IMAX VR Exclusive as well as any other IMAX VR experiences, by checking out the official IMAX VR website.
So, if you’re lucky enough to live near one of the IMAX VR Centers, I say it’s time to suit up as your favorite hero and prepare to fight. Remember, you can’t do it alone.
