Assassin’s Creed Movie VR Experience Now at Select AMC Theaters

The Assassin’s Creed film is now in theaters and it’s rolling out in style with a companion VR experience playable at select movie theaters across the United States. Thanks to a big partnership between 20th Century Fox, New Regency, Advanced Micro Devices, and Alienware, a few lucky AMC theaters will feature the VR experience on several Oculus Rift headsets running Alienware’s new Aurora PC featuring AMD Radeon RX 480 graphics cards.

“The Assassin’s Creed Movie VR Experience is a thrilling piece of virtual reality that will excite aficionados of the game, fans of the movie and newcomers alike,” said Roy Taylor, AMD corporate vice president of content, alliances, and VR, in an official statement. “We are delighted to team up with Fox and are excited to demonstrate how world-class VR can be produced and experienced on AMD technology”

For those of you unable to hike your way to any of those limited locations, fret not! The exclusive-ish experience is also available on your personal Oculus Rift as well as Samsung Gear VR for the low, low price of $0.00.

Assassin’s Creed already looks like a massively entertaining film, so this companion VR experience is like a sweet little dessert after a delicious meal. What better way to psyche yourself up for the movie than checking the experience out before you head in? If you happen to live near one of the few locations or own one of the above-mentioned devices and love jumping into various piles of haystacks from unnecessarily dangerous heights, definitely check out this out.

Assassin’s Creed is rated PG-13 and is in theaters right gosh darn now.
