Your dream of finally becoming John Wick, a hitman out for murderous vengeance over his beloved puppy Daisy, is about to come true — thanks to virtual reality.
Lionsgate and video game publisher Starbreeze have partnered to launch a VR first-person shooter based on the movie John Wick. The VR game that will be released on Steam for the HTC Vive is expected to launch a day before John Wick: Chapter 2 hits theaters on February 10th.
During an early press preview of the VR first-person shooter titled John Wick Chronicles, I got to blast my way through waves of baddies in one of the four total levels in the game. In this particular press preview demo, you start in the lobby of The Continental Hotel, where you find yourself taking an elevator up to the roof to fully arm yourself for the heart-pounding battle that is about to begin. Hit squads come at you from all directions, laying down massive fire that has you ducking and dodging as bullets zip by your head. And of course a copter comes down on you, spraying a stream of gatling gun fire as you steady your aim to take out the occupants.
It’s an intense experience — and if this demo is just a preview of what to expect from the rest of John Wick Chronicles VR, you’re going to need a towel to soak up all that tactical sweat.

This John Wick Chronicles VR demo was also shown to attendees at New York Comic-Con back in October. The game will have a total of three difficulty modes, and two basic play modes, Arcade and Simulation.
