Set The Mood This Valentine’s Day With Love Playmoji & AR Stickers

Romance is in the air, and on your phone.

Valentine’s Day has once again arrived, bringing with it the inevitable stream of Hallmark cards, over-priced chocolate, and of course, hundreds upon thousands of roses. This year, however, Google is looking to modernize your romantic festivities with Love Playmoji characters and AR stickers for Pixel Playground, Night Sight functionality, and a slew of other updates guaranteed to add a bit of spice to your evening.

Available now on the Google Pixel, Pixel 2, and Pixel 3, V-Day updates to the Playground creative platform allow you to send that special someone a virtual Valentine, pepper your scenes with a love-themed Playmoji pack, and litter your world with AR sticker packs. These AR animations range from animated love birds and love letters, to interactive hearts, fancy champagne glasses, and many other adorable offerings. With V-Day Vision, you can make your significant other the center of attention with a custom filter that adds a gorgeous blur to the background of the subject.

“Your Valentine always stands out to you. So make them the center of focus with Portrait Mode, and watch as the background fades into a beautiful blur… just like the world does when you’re together,” states Google in their wonderfully poetic blog post.

Ok, so you’ve been swapping animated AR messages with your special someone all afternoon and now you’re finally ready to hit the town. Don’t let terrible restaurant lighting ruin your chance at capturing a photo of your magical evening; Google’s Night Sight works in conjunction with the Google Pixel camera to take high quality photos in low light environments.

Google’s Valentine’s Day updated also includes a Group Selfie camera mode for the Pixel 3, perfect for a group of friends breaking the status quo with a “Palentine’s Day.”

Of course you can also use Google Lense to assist in your many Valentine’s Day-related errands. Love a certain bouquet of flowers, but aren’t sure what type they are? Simply point your camera to find out the species and where they’re sold. Need to book a last-minute reservation? Aim your camera at the restaurant’s menu to access its contact information in seconds.

Google’s Love Playmoji, AR sticker pack, and Night Sight functionality are available now on Pixel, Pixel 2, and Pixel 3 smartphone devices.
