The Gear 360 is also bundled with the Galaxy S8 for just $49.
You can finally gets your hands on Samsung’s new Gear 360 camera. First unveiled back in March, this is the second generation of our most beloved 360-degree consumer camera on the market. And for all the flaws the original Gear 360 may have had, it would appear most have been addressed in this latest iteration.
Priced at $229, the new model packs a similar punch to the first generation. But it’s priced $120 less than what the first Gear 360 retailed at launch. This makes the Gear 360 once again one of the most highly accessible price points to create quality 360-degree photo and video content for the average consumer.
The Gear 360 is available in-store and online at Best Buy, Amazon.com, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, and Samsung.
Even if you own the original Gear 360 or aren’t sure if 360° is for you, you still might want to take a serious look at this one. We will be shooting test footage with the device shortly, but going off the additional feature updates and a price point of $229, things are looking like a steal.
The new Gear 360 comes in a more pocketable design, video records up to 4K resolution, and even live broadcasts in full 360-degrees. When you pair the Gear 360 with a compatible smartphone, you can share your moments in real-time at 2K resolution to places like Facebook, YouTube and Samsung VR.
The best part of this latest model is how Samsung has finally addressed compatibility complaints. The new Gear 360 is not only compatible with the full line-up of Samsung devices like the Galaxy and Note devices, but offers expanded compatibility with iOS devices and Mac computers.
From the Gear 360 mobile app, you can control the camera remotely as well as stitch, edit and share content on the go. Whether creating a 360-degree video or photo, you can access various viewing modes, and editing tools to use on your own video creations.
Samsung is also throwing in a bonus too if you’re in the market for a Galaxy S8. If you purchase a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+ between May 25, 2017 and June 19, 2017 you’ll be able to purchase the new Gear 360 for just $49. This promotion is available for a limited time and only while supplies last.
