Meta Quest 2 & Quest Pro VR Headsets Get Price Cuts

These discounts will go into effect this Sunday.

Earlier today, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced via Instagram that the company will be reducing the prices of its Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro headsets.

Beginning March 5th, 2023, the 256GB Quest 2 will be available for $429.99 (previously $499.99) in the US, Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the UK.

Meanwhile, you can pick up the Quest Pro, Meta’s recently-released mixed reality device, for $999.99 (previously $1,499.99). Those outside the US and Canada will have to wait until March 15th for the Quest Pro price change to go into effect (prices may vary by location).

“Our goal has always been to create hardware that’s affordable for as many people as possible to take advantage of all that VR has to offer,” said the company in an official blog post. “That’s why we pioneered the first standalone headsets with inside-out tracking, letting people experience the freedom of wireless VR without the need for a separate PC or game console.

“While we aren’t lowering the price of Meta Quest 2’s 128GB SKU, a new lower price for 256GB of storage will let even more people feel the joy of fully immersive games and experiences. Similarly, by lowering the price of Meta Quest Pro, we’re making our industry-leading Meta Reality technology and Infinite Display optical stack available to even more businesses and professionals around the world.”

These discounts come less than a year after Meta increased the cost of all Quest 2 headsets by $100. According to the company, this price bump was a direct result of rising production and shipping costs.
