Catch the first-of-its-kind show in-person, on national TV, or in VR.
This Friday, masked-EDM act Marshmello and country sensation Kane Brown will hold a live performance of their new single “One Thing Right” at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield in NYC as part of Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series. This show will also be the first live performance watchable in-person, on national TV, and in VR in real-time.
On August 30th, fans of either (or both!) act can log in to the MelodyVR app—available on iOS, Android, Oculus Go, and Samsung Gear VR devices—and use the platforms ‘Jump Spots’ feature to view the performance in full 360-degrees from multiple perspectives, whether it be the front row, the middle of the crowd, or even on stage side-by-side with Marshmello and Brown themselves!
“Stoked that fans all over the world can experience our GMA performance live in virtual reality,” said Marshmello in a statement according to Billboard. “I can’t wait for crowds in the park, on TV and at home in VR to come together for this – It’s gonna be sick!”
“It is really cool to be a part of something like this that’s never been done before,” added Brown. “I can’t wait to hit the stage with Marshmello to play our new song for the first time, and for fans at home to be able to experience this performance in a whole new way.”
The live performance kicks off Friday, August 30th at 8:15am ET. As previously stated, the MelodyVR app is available for free on a variety of platforms, including iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, as well as Oculus Go and Samsung Gear VR headsets.
Marshmello and Kane Brown are just another addition to a long list of musical acts whose performances were captured with MelodyVR. Previously, the immersive streaming platform has worked alongside Liam Payne (formerly a member of One Direction), Post Malone, 2 Chainz, Jamiroquai, T-Pain, Macklemore, the London Symphony Orchestra, Kygo, Imagine Dragons, Kaskade, and a dozen other major names in music.
