Earlier this week, developer Schell Games revealed that a third entry in the popular I Expect You To Die franchise is coming to VR headsets, and based on the new mixed reality trailer, we have a lot more deadly hijinks to look forward to.
In I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine, you’ll once again take on the role of a world-class secret agent tasked with stopping the nefarious Dr. Zor from completing his equally-nefarious plans. Along the way, you’ll be assisted by Dr. Roxana Prism and her robot agents whom you’ll need to work with if you hope to save the world.
According to Schell Games, I Expect You To Die 3 features six exciting missions set in what the developer claims are some of the most expansive locales featured in the I Expect You To Die series. Here you’ll use a variety of retro-futuristic gadgetry as well as your telekinetic abilities to solve a dangerous assortment of puzzles.
You can also, for the first time, style your agent with various hats, watches, and gloves.
“I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine is the latest title in Schell Games’ award-winning spy-themed VR puzzle series,” said the developer in an official release. “Players will travel to action-packed locations, wield complex gadgets, engage robots, and harness their telekinetic powers to solve tricky puzzles and stop Dr. Zor’s plans. Players encounter Dr. Prism, her sidekick Robutler, and her various robot agents as they work to save the world once again.”
I Expect You To Die 3: Cog in the Machine will be available for $24.99 on Meta Quest 2 and Quest Pro headsets on August 17th followed by PC VR headsets via SteamVR on September 28th. Those interested can pre-order the game now on the Meta Quest Store for an additional 10% off.
