Survios enlists the help of EDM’s biggest names for this mind-bending musical experience.
Thanks to the success of both Raw Data and Sprint Vector, California-based VR studio Survios has made a name for itself within the immersive entertainment community as an established developer of AAA VR content.
For their third official release, the ambitious company has once again chosen to stray away from the beaten path in order to take on an entirely new genre completely unique from its previous endeavors: music production.
Available on compatible headsets August 7th, Survios’ Electronauts is a hallucinatory music creation program designed for musicians of all skill levels. Using an assortment of custom, interactive electronic instruments and controls, users are able to compose, remix, edit and perform a variety of tracks from big-name electronic artists such as Tiesto, DJ Shadow, The Chainsmokers, ODESZA and Steve Aoki, with more planned collaborations on the way.
In order to help harness this wide range of powerful music into one intuitive, fluid experience, Survios enlisted the help of Grammy®-winning producer duo Stargate.
“Electronauts harnesses the power of VR to go inside of a song and feel completely in control of the music,” stated Nathan Burba, Survios Co-Founder and CEO, in an official release. “We’re incredibly excited to announce Electronauts alongside a very cool collaboration with Stargate who share our vision for pushing the creative limits of music using VR.”
“Never before have you been able to create music and interact with sound in a truly immersive way. This opens up for a totally new level of creative freedom and will inspire both seasoned artist and musicians as well as people with no musical training,” added Stargate’s Mikkel Eriksen. “Anyone can instantly create magic. The fact that you can play with material from today’s most talented artists makes it even more compelling. I truly believe Electronauts is groundbreaking, and a game changer in music creation.”
Electronauts was first announced late last year before being demonstrated at CES in Las Vegas this past January.
Electronauts will be available August 7th on the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and PlayStation VR for $18. Can’t wait two days to get started on your VR DJ journey?
