AT&T debuts immersive kiosk as part of its new 5G-enabled stadium.
A new augmented reality photo kiosk located inside the 5G-enabled AT&T Stadium is offering fans the chance to snag the ultimate souvenir photo alongside a handful fo their favorite Dallas Cowboy players.
Entitled ‘Pose with the Pros,’ the new AR experience launched this past weekend during the season-opener against the New York Giants. Centered in the lobby of the 80,000-seat stadium, a touch-screen interface allows fans to cycle through a handful of recognizable Cowboy’s players whom they can pose side-by-side with.
According to Cowboys Wire—presented by USA Today—options include wide receivers Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb, running back Ezekiel Elliott, center Travis Frederick, quarterback Dak Prescott, right guard Zack Martin, and linebackers Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch. In a video posted by AT&T to Twitter, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Randall Cobb and linebacker Jaylon Smith try out the experience for themselves.
Once five players have been chosen the screen goes into selfie-mode, at which point the selected individuals will casually walk into the frame as if they’d been waiting off-camera the entire time. These digital renditions will then strike a pose, leaving just enough room at the center for the subject. Fans can then enter their information to share their newly-captured group photo with friends and family on social media.
This is far from the only 5G-powered immersive content being offered at AT&T Stadium, however. This weekend kicked-off a series of 5G fan experiences, including several 36-foot tall 3D volumetric captures of various players towering over AT&T Plaza, 3D animations of famous touchdown dances you can groove alongside to, as well as live game data presented in AR—all viewable through Galaxy S10 5G devices located throughout the venue.
“These new fan experiences and the opportunities for the Dallas Cowboys organization are exactly why we’re excited to bring 5G to one of the largest, most technologically advanced entertainment venues in the world,” said Mo Katibeh, Chief Marketing Officer, AT&T Business, in an official release.
“We’re combining the physical and digital worlds to create a world-class experience for fans, and sports provide a perfect example of how our business-first 5G strategy will bring value to consumers. We’re paving the way for how immersive fan experiences could be built in venues across the country as our 5G network continues to grow.”
