Dan Burgar

Dan Burgar is the President of The Vancouver VR/AR Association, he's led the growth for the VR/AR ecosystem in BC and has been integral to turning Vancouver into a world leading hub for VR/AR. He promotes technology adoption, incubates early-stage companies, scales VR/AR companies, facilitates international trade, attracts foreign investment and builds communities. He's also a Co-Founder/Managing Partner at Shape Immersive, a leading innovative VR/AR agency that builds technology for the world's leading brands and retailers. Dan focuses on collaborating with companies to understand VR/AR and to develop strategies for companies to roadmap for the future of computing and his mission has been to continually advancing immersive technology as a productive tool that will change the world. Previously Dan has led the growth at Archiact and helped them grow into one of the worlds largest dedicated VR/AR content & strategy companies at the time.

He was featured in Forbes, Breakfast TV, BIV (Business In Vancouver), Roundhouse Radio, The Georgia Straight, BC Tech, BetaKit and have spoken at SXSW Interactive 2017, 2018, 2019 (Austin, TX), Annecy Festival France, Cambridge House: Extraordinary Future Conference, VR Days, AWE EU, VR/AR Global Summit and DGC Dubai. He's also a contributing writer for TechCrunch, VR Scout, VR Focus, BC Business and DailyHive. He was named as BIV's Top Forty Under 40 for 2018.

He and his team has helped Vancouver become a global leader in VR/AR and a top hub.
