Facebook’s Game Developers Showcase continues with an exciting new partnership.
With the global outbreak of COVID-19 resulting in the shutdown of Facebook’s annual F8 developer conference, the company is instead offering would-be attendees a host of online alternatives, including the Facebook: Game Developers Showcase.
The online event kicked-off yesterday with the reveal of a brand new universal menu design for the Oculus Quest, allowing for easier menu navigation while in-game. The new update, which begins rolling out later this month, also introduces multitasking functionality, allowing users to open and control multiple windows simultaneously.
Today, Facebook continued its series of announcements with the reveal of an exciting new partnership between internationally-renowned rapper/music producer Timbaland and Beat Saber which will see a handful of never-before-heard tracks making their world premiere via the immensely-popular VR rhythm game.
On March 26th players can purchase the Timbaland music pack for $7.99 ($1.99 per song) and slice their way through five original Timbaland tracks featuring a handful of recognizable artists:
- Kaydence, Timbaland – Dumb Thingz
- Sid Tipton, Timbaland – Has A Meaning
- Wavezswavesz – While We’re Young
- Nash Overstreet, Karra & Common Strangers – What I Like
- Bruno Martini, Timbaland – Famous ft. Jake Davis
The Timbaland Music Pack will be available on all Beat Saber platforms, including Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift/Rift S, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR. Each track can also be purchased on iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify at midnight on launch day.
Facebook is expected to make a new announcement every day at 10am PT now until March 19th. For more information on all the latest Oculus news, be sure to check back here regularly.
