Join Tallahassee, Wichita, Columbus, and Little Rock on a zombie-slaying adventure.
When it comes to surviving a zombie apocalypse, you should follow a list of rules that will greatly improve your chances of staying alive. For example, Rule #2: The double-tap. Use a second round to make sure the zombie is dead! You don’t want to end up becoming a human happy meal simply because you chose to be stingy with your bullets.
This rule along with a long list of others will come in handy when you’re playing Zombieland VR: Headshot Fever; a game from Sony Pictures and XR Games set in the Zombieland universe that draws inspiration from the light-gun games of the 90’s and popular fast-paced racing games of today.
Gameplay starts with you joining Tallahassee, Wichita, Columbus and Little Rock (Rule #33: Join the crew) as the five of you roll into Silicon Valley to launch a cool zombie-killing racecourse called the Zombieland Invitational. Before you do that, however, you need to be ready to kill some mother f’ing zombies!
Each character will work with you as they go over different survival rules, such as Rule #55: Gear up! Make sure you are fully armed with the right weapons in case you find yourself trapped in a building hallway. Zombieland VR: Headshot Fever offers a huge range of powerful weapons that you can choose from to help you along the way.
The more zombies you kill, the more points you generate, and only the fastest and deadliest players will make it on the leaderboard, so you’ll need to be quick on the trigger. That brings us to Rule #18: Limber up! You might want to stretch before jumping into VR.
To help you out, the creative team at XR Games created a new Adrenaline System that slows the world down every time you successfully pump out two back-to-back headshots.
This gives you more time to rack up big combos and get faster times so you can battle your way to the top of leaderboards. In doing so, you’ll unlock cool weapons like shotguns, assault rifles, and powerful upgrades. Before you know it, you’ll find yourself neck-deep in head-popping, clock-stopping, zombie-killing arcade action! As Tallahassee would say, you’re open for “ass-kicking business!”
Once you’re ready, you can take your new zombie killing skills to The Zombieland Invitational – the most dangerous zombie-killing racecourse ever devised.
In an official press release, Jake Zim, SVP, virtual reality, Sony Pictures Entertainment said, “With this VR game, we’re bringing the zombie apocalypse right to you in a totally new way while preserving the humor and wit of the hit movie franchise.”
“Now ‘Zombieland’ fans can feel what it’s like to stare down an onslaught of Zombie hordes and make split-second gameplay decisions in order to blast their way to survival.” Zim adds, “The team at XR Games not only retained the action, characters, and humor of what made the films so successful, but they’ve given fans a new way to become part of the ‘Zombieland’ universe.”
Bobby Thandi, Founder, and CEO of XR Games knew they had a big task in front of them. “The Zombieland world is a no-nonsense kind of place, and to this end, we’ve made one of the purest shooting games for VR. We hand-crafted the content, upping replayability, and incorporated mechanics from racing games such as time splits so you know exactly how well you’re doing.”
“It’s about practicing ’til you’re perfect. Your speed and accuracy with each shot are imperative to score the fastest time. And your performance is being assessed via the witty banter of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock. They’re not gentle with their opinions!”
Zombieland VR: Headshot Fever will be available this Spring for Oculus and SteamVR. Plans for PlayStation VR release are scheduled for later this year.
Oh, and don’t forget to get yourself some Twinkies. Rule #11: Enjoy the little things.
