The Uprising Creative is going all-in on virtual reality with the announcement of their content studio VEHICLEvr. The Los Angeles based production company created the new content studio to focus on producing original and branded VR content, as well as providing VR production services to its partner companies.
The launch of VEHICLEvr builds upon the company’s recent VR successes that VRScout has reported on earlier, including Mike Shinoda’s Fort Minor music video and CBS Interactive’s Kenan Thompson comedy short.
We have been wondering if The Uprising Creative was going to make a more serious commitment to virtual reality, and now we finally have our answer. With two VR projects under their belt and the insights from producing the projects, VEHICLEvr is now focused on their current array of VR projects in development.
The demand for VEHICLEvr’s services seem to also be there, with the EP and head of production Brian Schopfel confirming that they are “under NDA on at least 10 projects that are already in the pipeline, and that was all pre-launch.” The studio’s upcoming slate of projects range from shorts, original series, and features with talents like social media star Marcus Johns, Wolvesmouth chef and artist Craig Thornton, and comedian and actor Ari Stidham (CBS’s “Scorpion”).
VEHICLEvr launches with a roster of directors including Darren Craig, Jeff Nicholas, Jonathan Craven, Justin Hantz, Dan Huiting, and Alexander Thompson. Representation for the content studio will include UTA for original content, Tommy LaBuda for music videos, Resource for commercial, branded content, and experiential projects.
