A first-person VR game is coming from the developers of Titanfall.
Along with a whirlwind of updates coming out of Oculus Connect 4, Oculus VP of content Jason Rubin took the stage to showcase the company’s next wave of VR games we should be getting hyped about.
Two new VR experiences were teased, including a serious partnership with the game studio Respawn and the animation magicians at Disney’s Pixar.
Peter Hirschmann, Studio Director at Respawn, shared that the team that made of Call of Duty is working on a VR war game in collaboration with Oculus. This isn’t going to be Titanfall in VR, but will allow you to be “a soldier in combat in a more fully fleshed-out and realistic way,” CEO Vince Zampella said in the video below. No additional details were shared, but with the short video teaser shared on stage, we can expect the VR title to drop in 2019.
For those of us impatient for something sooner to get our hands and head in, Pixar also announced the debut of a tie-in project for its next feature film, Coco. The feature film hits theaters next month and stars the voices of Edward James Olmos, Alanna Ubach, and Benjamin Bratt to name a few.
Coco VR launches on Oculus Rift November 15 and Gear VR November 22. A trailer shown during the Oculus Connect 4 keynote depicted players dressing up their skeletal avatars, throwing a paper airplane, and performing on stage.
And for you Netflix fans, Stranger Things is getting a brand-new VR experience in fan-favorite Face Your Fears where you can expect your VR headset to take you to The Upside Down. Launching on Halloween.
