Have you ever wanted to become genius billionaire Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, and zip through the world in an armored suit only to battle baddies, defend cities, and face off against fierce villains to save the world?
Now becoming Iron Man is closer than ever. Coming this Spring for $50, Hasbro is releasing the Hero Vision Iron Man AR Experience, an augmented reality physical and digital play experience that transforms kids into Iron Man as well as bringing their favorite Marvel Universe characters to life.
Hero Vision is for kids 8+ and includes the Iron Man Mask, AR Goggles that are compatible iOS/Android smartphones, an AR Gauntlet, three AR markers, and one Infinity Stone. The function of traditional in-app purchases have been replaced by these physical Infinity Stone toys. Hasbro plans to make more available for sale later this year.
How it Works
To get started, you can download and launch the Hero Vision companion app. Place the included AR markers around your room or play area, then snap a compatible smartphone (iOS 6, Android 5 or higher) into the AR goggles. Slap on the hand gauntlet and put on the Iron Mask. Now you’re ready to transform your physical world into an augmented Marvel Universe.
The small red gauntlet allows the app to track your hand movements. It is also where you to place Infinity Stones that function as power-ups in the game. When an evil enemy is spotted, power your gauntlet by raising your hand, defend, batted and blast your way closer to victory. Take down Thanos, the Mad Titan, and save the world!
What to Know
It’s not always be fun and games when it comes to kids connected experiences. Safety, affordability and availability are always top of mind. When it comes to safety, Hero Vision does not use bluetooth or wifi, which means no data is collected, letting kids safely play the COPPA-compliant game.
Parents and kids don’t need to be an eccentric billionaire to experience Hero Vision either, with a $49.99 price point Hero Vision is an affordable way for kids to be transformed into their favorite superhero.
Hero Vision will be available in Spring 2018 and available at most major retailers and on HasbroToyShop.com.
Although we don’t have access to J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) to give us all of the answers, it will be interesting to see how Hasbro plans to keep kids coming back for more game play fun. Will there be more Marvel Universe characters? Hasbro’s latest Marvel Black Panther Vibranium Power FX Mask is a good indicator – it looks as though the AR goggles could easily work with the design. What will future Infinity Stones bring us? Will Hasbro create more content for more connected experiences?
As kids continue living a more connected world they expect their favorite characters from the Marvel Universe, Star Wars, Transformers, My Little Pony and more to be alongside them now and in the future.
