Go behind the scenes of a whacky fashion shoot with Derek Zoolander, as he busts out all the poses, acting very much like Derek Zoolander – the ridiculously good looking international super model.
As “Zoolander 2” makes its way into theaters this weekend, Paramount and Red Hour have partnered up with Jaunt to release their latest VR video, letting you experience Derek Zealander in full 360°. The roughly 2-minute long VR video is titled “Zoolander Infinity” and transports you in the middle of a colorful set while Zoolander parades around you.
To shoot the 360-degree video, Jaunt utilized their proprietary Jaunt One 3D camera system and advanced 3D sound-field microphones. So not only do you get to see Zoolander strikes poses all around you, you can hear him and the others on set with 3D sound, just like if you were actually there.
The fully immersive VR experience will be available via the Jaunt VR app (Android, iOS, and Gear VR) beginning Wednesday, February 10. But for now, you can watch it early thanks to a Facebook 360 version that just went live today (below).
Back in September, Facebook began supporting 360° videos in the News Feed, opening even more distribution channels for 360° videos. Subsequently, Facebook added VR support in November for 360° videos. So if you own a Gear VR headset and supported Samsung smartphone, 360° videos will now have an option to “Watch in VR”. Once selected, you will be prompted to insert your phone into the Gear VR for a more immersive virtual reality viewing experience.
“Zoolander 2” is directed by Ben Stiller and features an all star cast of Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Penélope Cruz, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Kyle Mooney, Milla Jovovich, Christine Taylor and Justin Theroux.
