Oculus Starts Shipping Rift Without Delays, Announces OC3

After their fair share of delays, Facebook-owned Oculus is now officially caught up with back-ordered supplies of the Rift.

The company announced Tuesday that Rifts are now shipping in 2 to 4 business days and that all pre-orders have now shipped. The latest announcement comes on the heels of HTC announcing in June that their Vive VR system would be shipping orders within 72 hours, making HTC’s system much more accessible over the past month.

Oculus apologized for the delays and stated they are also ramping up inventory for retail partners online and in stores, in addition to expanding Rift demo locations at Microsoft Stores and demo space at more than 500 US Best Buy locations in the U.S.

Oculus has also announced their third installment of the annual Connect developer conference that is sure to be heavy on the Touch controllers. Oculus Connect 3 will be their largest developer conference yet, with more than 50 technical talks and opportunities to experience new Oculus hardware and content. Featured keynotes include Brendan Iribe, John Carmack, and Michael Abrash. Don’t be surprised if Palmer Luckey pops in as well.
