NextVR and FOX Sports Delivering Live VR Boxing Matches

It’s happening tonight. NextVR is bringing their live virtual reality broadcast technology this Saturday, January 23 to the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) matches.

This latest live-action virtual reality broadcast, which rings in at 8:00 PM ET, continues the partnership between NextVR and FOX Sports to deliver compelling live content to sports in VR.

We have seen quite a range of sports captured from NextVR in the past, everything from the NBA, Soccer and even NASCAR. But placing you up-close and personal with two fighters in the ring, could be the live VR content that viewers would one day pay a premium to experience.

The Saturday PBC card is headlined by a fight between undefeated Danny “Swift” Garcia (31-0, 18 KOs) and former three-time world champion Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (33-3-1, 18 KOs).

Multiple cameras will be setup inside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where you can watch the live VR broadcast ringside, on the scoring table, and in the crowd. Additionally, fight commentary and graphics will be included in the virtual reality live stream.

If you have a Samsung Gear VR headset and you want to check out some of the best seats in the house, the VR livestream will be available through the NextVR app.

For more details about downloading the NextVR app and getting the livestream fired up, they put together some tips and a walkthrough on their site.
