’NBA 2K’ VR Launching For PSVR, HTC Vive and Gear VR

You’ll be able to test your hoops skills on November 22.

2K has announced the release of the NBA 2KVR Experience for the Sony PlayStation VR, HTC Vive and Samsung Gear VR. The VR hoops game will be available on all three platforms starting November 22nd and will retail for $14.99.

This is not meant to be a full-featured VR title, but will instead be a collection of mini-games, all voiced and narrated by NBA 2K17 cover athlete Paul George. Paul George will also provide commentary and guide the player by offering tips to help improve their skills in mini-games, which include three-point shootout, a speed and accuracy skills challenge and the buzzer beater countdown.

2K is just dipping their toes into VR gaming experiences, starting with this upcoming release that looks more like a branded content experience with Gatorade than a gaming title. Players can earn a variety of Gatorade fuel boosts that will aide their shooting acumen, speed, recovery and more to help reach the top of the leaderboards.

“Our team consistently looks for new ways to deliver unique, fun experiences for the gamer,” said Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts. “NBA 2KVR will give fans even more access to our franchise and test new skills across entertaining VR challenges.”
