Vertigo Games showcases The Damned DLC gameplay, reveals August release date.
This year’s annual Electronic Entertainment Expo officially kick-off tomorrow and already we have an enormous list of new games and exciting updates on the way for major VR headsets.
Top among these announcements was the reveal of Vertigo Games’ stellar zombie survival FPS, Arizona Sunshine, for the Oculus Quest. Originally released back in 2016 for SteamVR, Oculus, and PSVR, the immersive experience takes users through a post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by a worldwide zombie virus. Regarded as one of the highest quality VR zombie experiences currently available, the title received praise from both users and critics for its immersive gameplay and fleshed-out narrative.
Arriving sometime later this year, this standalone port of the smash hit title will deliver the same apocalyptic excitement you know and love from the original with the added bonus of tetherless freedom.
“We’re excited to be bringing Arizona Sunshine to the headset of freedom and possibilities later this year,” said Arjen van Heck, Programmer at Vertigo Games, in an official release. “It will be the VR zombie shooting experience players have come to love, rebuilt entirely for Oculus Quest.”
Vertigo Games also used their time in the spotlight to unveil the first gameplay footage from their upcoming The Damned DLC. The largest expansion mission offered to players so far, the added content will have users stepping into the shoes of an elite Special Forces soldier tasked with the impossible mission of restarting the generators of a massive Arizonan hydroelectric mega-dam.
The Damned DLC arrives on SteamVR, Oculus, and PSVR August 27th with plans for an Oculus Quest release when the title arrives on standalone sometime later this year.
