PvP mode launches October 13th alongside the Oculus Quest 2.
In one of the more unexpected announcements of the day, Facebook’s Beat Games announced upcoming multiplayer support for their hit VR rhythm game Beat Saber. Beginning next month, players can test their skills against both friends as well as strangers in multiplayer matches.
According to Facebook, players will be able to select from a variety of new in-game avatars and join a private or random lobby where they can slice bricks side-by-side with five other players in real-time. Unfortunately, Beat Saber multiplayer will not feature support for cross-platform play at launch, though the company hopes to eventually introduce cross-play between Rift/Rift S and Quest/Quest 2.

In addition to this new multiplayer game mode, Beat Saber has also teamed up with international k-pop sensation BTS to launch a new music pack, complete with the group’s new TinyTAN characters. Arriving in November, this BTS-themed pack will feature 12 new tracks as well as support for multiplayer using the TinyTAN characters.
