For those of us in the United States, you can usually just walk into a local Best Buy and demo an Oculus Rift in store — purchasing it right there if you wanted. But up until now, the Oculus Rift hasn’t seen the same retail distribution internationally.
Now the Oculus rift is finally available at select retail stores in the UK, where you can find a headset at John Lewis, Curry’s PC World, Game, and Harrods for £550. The price is slightly higher than what you currently pay to have the Oculus Rift shipped to you (about £530), but can expect the retail version of the Rift to be exactly the same, including a Xbox One wireless controller as well as bundled demos and games.
If you’re looking to demo the Oculus Rift, you can check here for locations, but it appears most of the retail stores right now are in London at a few select stores. Also starting today, you can also order through Amazon UK, should you prefer never to leave the house.
Oculus Touch Price Revealed
For now, you’ll have to make do with an Xbox One controller as an input device. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to eventually get your hands on Oculus Touch, the company’s wrist-friendly controllers that track your hand movement. According to a tweet by Nick Summers, associate editor at Engadget UK, the Oculus Touch is going to be priced at £189.99 in the UK.

According to in-store displays shared in the photo, Touch pre-orders have already begun and require a £50 deposit. It’s likely that the in-store display was put up earlier than planned, but either way, it appears that Oculus Touch pre-orders have already begun!
