DC Comics Unveils Batman View-Master at Comic-Con

You can pre-order this new Batman View-Master VR pack and help save Gotham City.

DC Comics was all about virtual reality this year at Comic-Con International, letting fans engage in an entirely new way with some of their most popular characters. In addition to the offsite Suicide Squad Gear VR experience and daily Oculus Medium demos on stage at their booth, the company also gave previews of their new Batman VR experience.

The Batman VR experience, which will be made available this Fall, is bringing the Batman animated series back into the spotlight, reuniting the original voice cast for a brand new virtual reality experience. The VR experience was unveiled along with a new Mattel View-Master Batman VR Pack that you can pre-order right now on Amazon.

The Batman View-Master is one of the first branded versions of the Google Cardboard certified viewers we have seen since we got our hands on it before it hit store shelves back in October.

Although the Batman View-Master VR version of the viewer was only on display behind glass, Mattel let fans preview the VR experience at their booth, letting you transport yourself into a virtual Batcave and locations around Gotham City.

Also at the Mattel booth, Batman VR voice actors Kevin Conroy, Loren Lester and Paul Dini were on hand for signings to promote the latest experience. As Kevin Conroy shared, “I’ve been living this character for almost 25 years now, and to be able to inhabit him in the atmosphere of the Batcave is an incredible experience and I think the audience is going to love it.”

In addition to unveiling the View-Master Batman VR Pack, DC Comics also let some fans become Batman at their booth, demoing the upcoming Batman: Arkham VR game that will launch alongside Sony’s upcoming PlayStation VR.
